MATHEMATICS Revision of UT2 UT-II syllabus was revised properly with the help of a revision worksheet which was shared through 'Teams'. The common errors were pointed out and discussed in the class, and students were made to realize their mistakes. Later, the answer scripts were given to the students to take home. Exponents and Power The chapter was introduced with a concept map of "Laws of Exponents". NCERT questions were discussed in class, and scientific notation was explained with various subject-integrated questions, such as the atomic mass of an element, Earth's distance from various planets, bacteria production, and cell division. ENGLISHGrammar Revision of Reported Speech was done for UT-2 through class practice and weekend worksheets. Writing Descriptive Writing was introduced in the class. Students were made aware of how to describe a person through a sample. The importance of using sensory words and transition words was emphasised. Literature 'A Visit to Cambridge' was done from the literature reader. The significance of journaling was highlighted. Challenges faced by disabled people was discussed with the students. SOCIAL SCIENCEHISTORY Chapter: The Making of the National Movement: 1870s—1947 The students were able to understand that the National Movement stretched from around 1870 and ended with India getting its freedom in the year 1947. Following the establishment of numerous political organizations after the 1850s, the idea of the National Movement emerged. The majority of such organizations were formed between 1870 and 1880. It culminated in the Indian Independence Act 1947, which ended Crown suzerainty and partitioned British Raj into Dominion of India and Dominion of Pakistan. India remained a Crown Dominion until 26 January 1950, when the Constitution of India established the Republic of India. They wrote questions and answers. They revised for UT-II. CIVICS Chapter: Judiciary In the month of November, the students revised the topic of the Judiciary in India and wrote questions and answers after discussing them. The students practiced revision worksheets for their UT-II. GEOGRAPHY The distribution of major industries, such as the iron and steel sector, was taught to the students. They learned about its founding, expansion, and advancement. The iron and steel industries of Pittsburgh and Jamshedpur were also contrasted and compared by the students. On the political map of the world, they also labeled and placed the principal iron and ore-producing nations. UT revision was done with the help of a worksheet and MS form. SCIENCE PHYSICS The Harmonious Symphony Within: A Deep Dive into the Science of Sound and Hearing Embarking on a journey through the complexities of the human ear and the science of sound, students delved into the wonders of auditory perception and the significant role sound plays in our lives. They achieved a clearer understanding of the structural intricacies and functional aspects of the human ear. Students thoroughly explored the processes underlying the generation of sound by humans. Clear definitions for various terms related to sound waves, including amplitude, frequency, time period, and wavelength, were provided to them. They delved into an exploration of the distinctive attributes of sound, encompassing elements such as pitch, loudness, and sound quality. Developing the ability to differentiate between various sounds based on their unique characteristics became a focal point of their learning. Learners, through the chapter "Chemical Effects of Current," were amazed to know how the process of electroplating is used in our everyday life and is done on almost all metal objects around us. They also understood the difference between electroplating and a similar process called Galvanization. BIOLOGY The labelled diagram of the Life Cycle of Frog and Life Cycle of Butterfly was drawn by the students in the notebook. During the process of learning Python, the students learned advanced coding in Python using iterative statements. They learned different loops like the for loop, while loop, infinite loop, and loop else. They understood that when they have to repeat one or more statements many times, repetition can be carried out using loops in programming. SPORTS DAY PRACTICE INDIAN DANCEDiwali, the festival of lights, is mainly celebrated in honour of Lord Ram's return to his kingdom in Ayodhya, after staying in exile for 14 years. On this occasion Suncitizens learnt a beautiful dance, an amalgamation of the east meeting the west fusion, demonstrating Ram- The Warrior. The combination steps of Bhangra Dance: Shoulder movement, leg taps, leg raise, side shuffle taps 2. Full body strengthening warm-up routine to keep one injury free and strong 3. Choreography was done keeping the essence of full movement intact and add the contemporary elements to make the art form interesting. They sang in groups and individually. They also learnt to create the song in different melodies. Instrument used: Piano, drums, guitar DRAMA.In their Drama lessons, the students delved into the understanding of story dramatization. Since, a story is a simple narrative, there are certain points to consider when planning to dramatize it. To grasp this concept: 1. Story Selection and Scene Creation: Students began by selecting a story, dividing it into scenes, and writing dialogues. 2. Animal Story Transformation: Students chose an animal story, extracted its moral or lesson, and recreated the narrative in a contemporary context for humans. They performed the adapted story. 3. Scene Recreation: Students were organized into groups, assigning each group a scene from a chosen story. They were provided with the script or scene summary, and they worked collaboratively to recreate and perform the scene. 4. Emphasis on Performance Skills: Encouraged students to concentrate on character development, blocking, and using their voices and bodies to convey the essence of the story. 5. Exploration of Physical Theatre and Body Mechanics: To comprehend physical theatre and body movements, students engaged in an activity discussing machines, their components, and how they operate. They explored the idea that machines consist of moving and non-moving parts, differentiated between simple and complex machines, and acted as components of a machine in groups. This activity highlighted the importance of collaboration, teamwork, and synchronization within their teams. VISUAL ARTSStudents participated in 'Blink it' competition. Students created composition on given topics i.e Christmas, New Year and Republic Day celebration. They were introduced to Post Impressionism and the artist, Vincent van Gogh. Composition: Christmas, New Year and Republic Day celebration, Wheatfield with the cypresses by van Gogh. Art Technique: Free hand, colour mixing, colouring, outlining Art tools: Pencil, crayons, scale, drawing sheet.
