MATHChapter: Data Handling Raw Data, Primary and Secondary Data were explained with the help of google search bars. How the data needs to be organized in a systematic way of presentation such as Pictograph, Bar graph, Double Bar graph, Frequency, Grouped frequency distribution with class Intervals, bars with a difference (Histogram) and the circle Graph or Piechart was discussed in the class. Exercise questions related to these topics were taught in the class. Integrated with ICT: The students were asked to use their UT I marks with the help of ICT tool to make a bar graph. The Histogram and Piechart were explained with the help of their own schedule time for various activities with the help Excel Sheet. Chance and Probability: Getting a result from Random Experiment, Equally likely outcomes, Linking chances to probability, Outcomes as event, Chance and probability related to real life were explained in the class. Probability of deck of cards, die and coins were explained as extra questions. Linear equations in One variables Introductory activity: The students were shown some pictures to observe. Based upon their observations, the students were able to relate the observations to simple equations and understand the need and use of simple equations in real-life. Also, the students were asked to revise the previous concept of linear equations and their solutions, for example: 4(3x+5) = 50. The chapter commenced with the daily life situations about Constant, Variables and equations. Solving equations which have linear expressions on one side and number on the other side, Some applications, solving equations having the variable on both sides were explained with the help of NCERT Exercise questions. More revision questions were given as a worksheet and extra questions. Revision of Half Yearly Syllabus was done in the class. ENGLISH“Stay curious, keep learning and keep growing, And always strive to be more interested than interesting.” - Jane Fonda The learners continued to develop their concept of Adjectives with an activity based on the theme International Day of Friendship in which each child was given a task to write about the qualities of his/her friend. The learners found it more interesting and interactively grabbed the concept well. Keeping in mind Bloom’s taxonomy, they were able to APPLY the use of adjectives and IDENTIFY them in their day to day conversation. All the sub topics like forming adjectives, similes, degrees of comparison were discussed followed by the discussion of text book exercises. The concept of the Reported Speech was initiated with a quick recap of tenses with the help of a PPT and a quiz. The students were asked to elocute the quotes by famous personalities and also to explain the same in their own words. This way, they could differentiate between the two, i.e. the direct speech and the indirect speech well. A hand out for the same was also provided in order to help them with notes making. The students were guided about the change of the reporting verbs, pronouns, time and duration etc. according to the nature of the given sentence. Text book exercises were discussed with an active participation of the students. The students were given an enrichment exercise for extra practice. “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” - Helen Keller The heart touching excerpt from Helen Keller’s autobiography ‘The Story of My Life’ was not only read, but actually felt by the students. GEOGRAPHY- Revision- As the syllabus for the term was complete, doubts of the students were cleared. Revision of the chapters were done. Class test was taken to check the progress. Revision worksheet was shared on TEAMS and blue print was discussed. Mineral and power resources were discussed and application based questions were asked to strengthen the concepts about conventional and non-conventional resources under the SDG-7 of Clean and Affordable Energy and SDG-13 of Climate action. SCIENCEBIOLOGY- Chapter- Conservation of Plants and Animals: The basic ecological terms like- biodiversity, species, habitat, flora and fauna were discussed and explained to the students. The class did a Think-Pair-Share activity to discuss the importance of biodiversity [SDG 12- Sustainable Consumption and Production]. The students also made concept maps on the causes of loss of biodiversity. [Art Integration] Students learnt about the different ways of Conserving Biodiversity through an interactive video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3aRQNPi68M On the basis of the information learnt, the educator facilitated the students in consolidating and making an elaborate concept map of different strategies involved in Biodiversity Conservation. [Art Integration] The students were given a fun task to design and draw a stamp of any one threatened animal and display it in class. All the students participated enthusiastically in this activity. [Art Integration] The students learnt about the different Protected areas which have been earmarked for the conservation of forest and wildlife. With the help of a video and explanation, the students understood that sound cannot travel through vacuum (Bell jar experiment). The students visited physics lab to understand how time can be measured using a simple pendulum. The students understood the formation of a simple pendulum and learnt the following terms : 1. Length of pendulum 2. Mean and extreme position of bob 3. Oscillation of pendulum 4. Amplitude of pendulum 5. Time period 6. Frequency The students discussed various characteristics of sound like loudness, frequency, pitch and quality. The students drew the wave diagram for various cases of loudness and low pitch and high pitch. They understood the concept used in various musical instruments to produce different sounds and the ways how sound produced from two instruments can be differentiated using quality of sound. The students listed the audible and non-audible range for living organism and defined infrasonic and ultra sonic sound. Also they discussed the animals which can produce and detect infrasonic/ultrasonic frequency range to catch their prey. In addition, the learners participated in a debate on Noise Pollution stating the following: 1. Factors responsible for noise pollution 2. Hazards of noise pollution 3. Step to be taken to reduce noise pollution.
